Field Guide Vol. 237
We’re very proud of our latest guide, Stranger’s Guide: Around the World, which is out now. This volume, our 20th, marks five years of publication for Stranger’s Guide. Since our first guide, we’ve examined cities, countries and regions across five continents, commissioning original reporting from local journalists that considers the larger geopolitical movements of our time, through people’s experiences in daily life. This new guide explores themes like Family, Sports and Conflict through original essays from around the world.
On Dec 4, we hosted an evening of travel storytelling at McNally Jackson Books in Manhattan follows by a cocktail party in celebration of the launch of our 20th volume! The theme of the event was “Travel Confusion” and featured Stranger’s Guide writers Courtney Desiree Morris, Saïd Sayrafiezadeh and Cassim Shepard sharing lively stories from different journeys.
As we spread the word about reaching the five year milestone, we wanted to celebrate by sharing our first-ever Field Guide, featuring an essay written by Cassim that examines the world of guidebooks. And if you want a very special guidebook yourselves, Stranger’s Guide: Around the World is available for purchase here!
