Whether you encounter it in your everyday life or not, sign language is used by millions of people around the world everyday. In this photo series from Global Press Journal, you can see snapshots of people using sign language in their daily lives in countries around the world. From an incense seller communicating with an interpreter in Nepal to a nursing student taking a practical sign language class in Haiti. As someone who knows a bit of American Sign Language from growing up with deaf family members, I found this series to be especially interesting when thinking about all the different variations of sign language in the world.
