Listen: Bomba Estéreo
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month which began on September 15, check out Bomba Estéreo’s 2021 album, Deja. Bomba Estéreo is a Colombian band from Bogotá known for their innovative sound that blends traditional Colombian and Caribbean rhythms with electronic music. I first encountered Bomba Estéreo when they were featured on Bad Bunny’s song, “Ojitos Lindos,” one of my favorite songs on the album. Deja is a bit different from their typical electronic, dance tunes. It’s a tribute to the natural world, “a concept album foregrounding the environment as a means by which we can heal ourselves politically, socially and spiritually.” Listen to Deja here on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube.

James Cook Artwork is an artist I discovered while scrolling on Instagram. James makes one-of-a-kind Typewriter Art where he uses a typewriter to craft images, often architectural landscapes as well as portraits of celebrities and public figures. Based in London, he has created over 350 pieces of artwork. You can explore that work here on his website as well as on his Instagram account.
