Listen: Paraiso

Just yesterday as I was shuffling through music on Spotify, I encountered this song that I had never heard before: “Paraiso” by the UK-based Spanish singer-songwriter, Gizmo Varillas. I was captivated and had to go back and play it again. The track blends Latin rhythms with a contemporary touch, transporting listeners to what feels like a serene and upbeat paradise. Listen to “Paraiso” here on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube. My guess is you’ll want to listen again too!

Explore: Wisdom Kaye

As New York Fashion Week begins to kick off here in NYC, it’s the perfect time to spotlight a standout figure making waves in the fashion scene these days. Wisdom Kaye is a 23-year old Nigerian-American model, style icon and influencer who has quickly risen to fame as the “best-dressed man on TikTok.” Kaye’s bold outfits and dramatic videos have come up on both my Instagram and TikTok feeds and I’m always blown away by his unique blend of high fashion and street style. Some of my favorite videos from Kaye are his attempts at styling the world and styling different fonts. Learn more about his fashion choices and content here in this article from OkayAfrica.

And for some extra fashion week-inspired content, browse through Nigerian photographer Stephen Tayo’s photo essay from our Lagos guide, “Style in the Streets of Lagos.”
